The man, if he could be referred to as such, shattered the darkness with a display of brilliant flames erupting from his very being, bisecting that ravenous and emotional stranglehold which pure and unfettered darkness can conjure and inflict upon the mind.

The words, thunderous yet lumbering, descended as if they had seeped out from the figure’s flesh and were forcefully warped into a form which could be comprehended by the ear.
